Bourbon Bacon Sweet PotatoesLet’s face it…everything is better with Bourbon…well, Spiked Jellies’s bourbon jelly, for sure.  And we already know that our Bourbon Stout jelly is fantastically fabulous on sweet potatoes.  So, this time, we are kicking it up another notch…with Bacon!

Seriously yummy!  A friend hooked us on the recipe for Smoky Roasted Sweet Potatoes from the Against All Grain author, Danielle Walker.  We Spiked it up by drizzling Bourbon Stout beer jelly over the finished product.

Ok, admittedly, we added grains back into the recipe with our Spiked Jellies’s twist, but come on…it’s Bourbon!!  Can you really argue with that?!

For your easy enjoyment, here is the recipe to try out in your home…just drizzle your Bourbon Stout jelly at the end for easy gourmet:

Smoky Roasted Sweet Potatoes by Danielle Walker of Against All Grain

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, diced
  • 8 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
METHOD:
Preheat oven to 400*F.
In a large bowl, toss together all of the ingredients. Spread onto two rimmed baking sheets.
Place in oven and roast for 15 minutes.
Toss to coat potatoes in the rendered bacon fat. Continue roasting for 15 minutes, until the potatoes are crisp.
